STEPS:
A) Assemble Base Stand #1 through: 1½ Nylon Washer #3, Yoke #2,
1 inch Nylon Washer #4, 1 inch (thicker) Metal Washer #9, Jam Nut #7,
and Nylon Lock Nut #11 (Fig 1).
Note: Tighten Jam Nut #7 against Nylon Lock Nut #11 nut DO NOT over tighten
Yoke #2 to Base Stand #1. Allow Yoke #2 to rotate. This procedure may
be already performed. Be sure to keep nylon washers lubricated with a
light oil for longer lasting performance.
B) Insert Bronze Oilite Bushing #8, into holes provided in square tube
Arm #10. Insert this assembly into Yoke #2 and line up holes so to put
Shoulder Bolt #6 through Metal Washer #9, one side of Yoke #2, Bronze
Oilite Bushing #8, square tube Arm #10, Bronze Oilite Bushing #8, other
side of Yoke #2, Metal Washer #9 (if needed) and Nylon Lock Nut #11 (Fig
2).
C) Slip Spring Safety Sleeve #17 over Spring #16, leaving eyebolts at
ends exposed. Tie draw strings at both ends of sleeve (Fig
3). Sleeves are longer than the springs and should be clumped as to
fit over the spring. The sleeve will straighten as the spring expands.
Note: It is very important to install the spring safety sleeve!
Serious personal injury could result from not using the spring safety
sleeve. Spring coils open and close with wave action and when Wake Watchers
Mooring System is released from Boat. This opening and closing action
could pinch fingers or flesh if not covered with the safety sleeve.
D) Screw in Thin Nut #7 to end of each eyebolt of Spring Assembly #16/17.
Insert eyebolt of Spring Assembly #16/17 into base of Stand #1 and the
eyebolt at the other end of Spring Assembly #16/17 into one of three holes
located on square tube Arm #10 (Fig
4). Fasten with Nylon Lock Nuts #11.
Spring Tension: The three holes adjust the spring tension: the
inner most hole for the least amount of tension and the outer most hole
for the maximum amount of tension. We recommend using the middle hole
until you can determine the proper setting by attaching your craft to
the Wake Watchers Mooring System.
E) Insert End Caps #14 into Arm #10. Insert Rope Assembly #12 into Arm
#10 and fasten with Nylon Lock Nut #11. Attach fluorescent stickers as
indicated in (Fig 4).
Fastening Wake Watchers Mooring System to dock:
Determine the distance between your Wake Watchers Mooring System by the
distance of the mounting on your boat. It is recommended that the arms
angle in towards each other approximately 15 degrees (Fig
5). Another way of determining this distance is to add approximately
9 inches toward the outside of the boat mounting dimension at both ends
(Fig 5). This spacing will keep
the arms under constant tension and keep the boat centered.
Note: Dock fasteners have not been supplied due to the many variations
of docks. We recommend you use grade A bolts, washers and lock nuts when
bolting Wake Watchers Mooring System. If necessary, reinforce appropriate
areas of the dock.
Fastening boat to Wake Watchers Mooring System:
When fastening your boat to the Wake Watchers Mooring System, it is important
that the back portion of the Wake Watchers Mooring System arms be level
or parallel to the dock and 90 degrees to the base stand (Fig
6). It is important that these instructions are followed or the Wake
Watchers Mooring System will not perform properly. We recommend that you
use your boat bumpers until you have determined the correct tension adjustment
for optimum performance. We STRONGLY recommend that you use spring lines
or cross tie (Fig 7) your boat
in adverse wind, wave and weather conditions. It is also recommended that
you cross tie your boat (Fig 7)
when leaving it moored for extended periods of time.
Warranty null and void if instructions are not followed
